As we get older we continue to look for positive elders to be our role models. We think we've found one in Phyllis Greene. She became a first-time author at the age of eighty-two. In this her second book, she shares the secrets of growing younger by staying fully present for and actively involved in your life. Her grace, good humor, and penetrating insights make this a memorable read.
Helping Phyllis stay focused on the present gifts and joy in her life is a quote by Edith Wharton which she uses in her Introduction section. It's good food for thought for all of us regardless of our present age. "In spite of illness, in spite even of the archenemy, sorrow, one can remain alive long past the usual date of disintegration if one is unafraid of change, insatiable in intellectual curiosity, interested in big things, and happy in small ways."
