"Shedding Years...Growing Older, Feeling Younger" by Phyllis Greene

As we get older we continue to look for positive elders to be our role models. We think we've found one in Phyllis Greene. She became a first-time author at the age of eighty-two. In this her second book, she shares the secrets of growing younger by staying fully present for and actively involved in your life. Her grace, good humor, and penetrating insights make this a memorable read.

Helping Phyllis stay focused on the present gifts and joy in her life is a quote by Edith Wharton which she uses in her Introduction section. It's good food for thought for all of us regardless of our present age. "In spite of illness, in spite even of the archenemy, sorrow, one can remain alive long past the usual date of disintegration if one is unafraid of change, insatiable in intellectual curiosity, interested in big things, and happy in small ways."

In the September 2008 issue of Oprah Magazine

We found this wonderful quote in an article entitled Are You On The Right Course? by Martha Beck.

You and I might not have met, but because of my own superpower, I can tell you this: Your life is not little, and your playing small doesn't serve the world. Your living large, on the other hand--your being your true self despite fear, fatigue, doubt, and opposition--will serve the world more than you can imagine. In fact, it may help save it. And saving the world, after all, is what all heroes (including you) are here to do.
